Ron’s long term credentials include administering the Film Producers defined contributions pension plan, and recommending investments for its strategic mergers and acquisitions fund. Under his careful management, the pension plan’s expansion was up more than eight percent a year.
Appointed by former Los Angeles Mayor Tom Bradley to the Los Angeles Film Development Council, Ron managed the Film Craftsman Association’s ongoing and daily business affairs. He served the association as a trustee, investment advisor, contract negotiator and mediator. Ron improved efficiencies and reduced operating expenditures while maintaining its full range of services to the organization.
As a young professional working with investments and finance, Mangelsdorf began his career with Ashwill-Burke, a commercial real estate developer. After its takeover, he moves to Wells Fargo Bank’s elite Beverly Hills entertainment group. Then moving to American Savings’ real estate management team, he helps re-engineer its real estate operations. A skillful problem-solver, Mangelsdorf manages the Thrift’s investment properties, branch system, special assets, troubled loan portfolio and record-setting REO sales.
As one of the first to join the Resolution Trust Corporation (RTC), Mangelsdorf becomes a U.S. Congressionally appointed Receiver, with duty stations in Atlanta, Dallas, Denver, Newport Beach and Washington, D.C. While on detail to the Senate Committee: Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, Mangelsdorf helps RTC establish itself, achieve its record-setting goals and then sail into its own timely sunset.
Together with Walt Disney’s Chief Imagineer and KPMG’s Managing Partner, Mangelsdorf opens Imersiv, a theme park company. Together, they merge into the Auburn Companies, which includes Auburn Financial, Auburn Business Brokers and Auburn Properties – all full service real estate venues.
